3 Ways to Get More from General Conference
We love conference! It is a special weekend filled with uplifting talks and music. We enjoy the comfort of home while we are fed spiritually and find guidance for our own path.
But now that it's over, how can we make the most of what we've heard?
Here are a few ideas:
1. Listen to it again anywhere you can.
Being spiritually lifted is for every day, not just Sunday. So listen to it as you do chores, ride in the car and as you exercise. Let your family see it becoming a part of every day.
2. Take time to record personal impressions.
Every prayer that is offered at conference asks for us to have our own questions answered and our own revelation received. The best way I've found to do this, is to stop to record my own thoughts.
Then, as Elder Scott mentioned in a talk before he passed away, ask God "is there more insight to be received?"
Many times, we get the tip of the iceberg during conference and our seeking gives us a deeper understanding of our own revelation.
3. Share with your friends and family.
As we teach what we learn to others, our own understanding deepens. So take the time to share with your family the impressions you've received.
Teach them what you've been taught and watch their own understanding and insight increase.
Conference happens twice a year, but we can glean from it every day!
